The first foldable steel playpen we've tested that doesn't wobble when a 30 kg dog throws its weight against a panel. The 5-second fold claim is, in this case, accurate — we timed it at four minutes fifty-two seconds with a labrador in the room.
The short version
A steel tube gets cut, welded, galvanized, and powder-coated — in the same room.
FREEPET started in 1997 as a small steel fabricator in Ningbo, making frames for other brands. In 2019 we started selling under our own name — the same welders, the same line, the same galvanizing tank. Nothing changed except the logo on the box.
Every playpen, kennel and crate that leaves our dock has been: cut on-site, welded on-site, hot-dip galvanized before cutting (so the tube ends don't rust), phosphate-washed, then double powder-coated. There is no third-party assembly line, no foreign contract factory, no "designed in California, made somewhere else."
We test the same way we build. 500-hour salt spray (ASTM B117), load testing to 180 kg lateral on the heavy-duty line, and a 10-year frame warranty that covers rust-through and weld failure — no fine print beyond "don't take a torch to it."
